We have interviewed Fabien to better understand what drives him and why he enjoys working in the impact investing industry.
Fabien, what do you like most about working in the impact investing industry?
The feeling to be part of something that is beyond my own personal interest, that has a direct impact on real economy.
Why did you decide to work in the impact investing industry?
Because impact finance does matter, it is the present but most of all the future. Social and environmental sustainability is and will be the biggest global challenge.
Why did you join BlueOrchard?
Because if you aim to work in impact finance, BlueOrchard as the leading global impact investment manager, is the best you can have.
What do you enjoy most about working at BlueOrchard?
The unique way of working and all the challenges that come along.
What is the most memorable experience you have made during your time at BlueOrchard?
Team building activities with the fellow colleagues. But I am pretty sure that the upcoming corporate trip in Kenya will be unforgettable.
How do you make an impact in your private life?
By being an active volunteer in an NGO working on the integration of refugees in Luxembourg.
What is the most valuable advice you can give to people interested in impact investing?
To believe in it, social and environmental issues are not unchangeable. Investors, people and organizations in impact finance are all part of the changes.
What is the biggest global challenge in your view?
To find social and environmental solutions in a long-term perspective. For that it is important to promote the importance of accountabilities, personal responsibility but most of all to focus primarily on private initiatives.
