This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Philip Menzi, Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, based in Zurich, Switzerland.
- Why did you join BlueOrchard?
“While I never could imagine joining a traditional bank or asset manager, the Impact Investing industry stood out as being unique and different and thus quickly caught my attention. The journey of BlueOrchard in particular was one that I was following way before I joined. Once I saw the job opening, I didn’t have to think twice before applying.”
- What do you like most at BlueOrchard?
“Despite being over 20 years old, the company feels young in spirit and each day offers the opportunity to drive change or learn something new. In addition, working with colleagues from across the globe is very enriching.”
- What is the biggest global challenge in your view?
“Climate change and global inequality are the biggest and most obvious global challenges in my view.”
- What is your favourite book? Why?
“I have read many good books throughout the years, but one very memorable one is “In Europe” by Geert Mak. A very chilling, yet hopeful journey through 20th century Europe. Although it covers events from past century Europe, the book holds many lessons that are ever so relevant today, within and beyond Europe’s borders.”
- What motivates you?
“I love animals. And witnessing them thriving in their natural environment gives me such a sense of joy. It motivates me to do my part to preserve nature and a healthy environment.”
