This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Sascha Ternes, Chief Operating Officer, based in Tbilisi, Georgia.
- Why did you decide to work in impact investing?
Having worked almost all my career in developing countries, I was fascinated by the potential to drive positive change and make a real difference in people’s lives. During the global financial crisis of 2008/2009 everybody could witness the negative consequences of unsustainable and high-risk financial practices, reminding everybody about the need for a more responsible and sustainable approach to finance that would prioritize positive social and environmental outcomes alongside positive financial returns.
- What is the most memorable experience you have made during your time at BO?
There have been so many memorable experiences during my time at the company, it’s hard to choose just one! From horizon-broadening field trips with investors, to energizing team-building events in beautiful landscapes, to new office opening events … These experiences have enriched my time here and remind me of the amazing opportunities that come with working for a great company.
- What do you enjoy most about working at BO?
We have an exceptional team spirit at BlueOrchard.
